European XFEL is an international non-profit company located in the Hamburg area in Germany. It operates a 3.4 km-long X-ray laser, which produces X-rays of unique quality for studies in physics, chemistry, the life sciences, materials research and other disciplines. To complete our team, we are looking for an
The position - Prototype designs of analog and mixed-signal ASIC blocks in CMOS technology for innovative X-ray pixel detectors in collaboration with international partners
- Contribute to establishing test strategies and setups for the designed ASIC structures
- Carry out the experimental characterization with the electronics laboratory equipment
- Contribute to the finalisation of the complex ASIC, including components designed by collaborators
Requirements - Master or PhD Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent professional experience
- Previous experience in integrated analog and mixed-signal circuit design, layout and simulation
- Good understanding of the main concepts regarding signal processing and filtering as well as low-noise analog design
- Knowledge of ASIC design and simulation tools such as "Cadence Virtuoso", Spectre and UltraSim is an asset
- Familiarity of radiation detectors is an asset
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a multi-lingual and multi-disciplinary team with English as working language
