Working in Trading:

Statkraft trades energy products in more than 20 countries and is active on 13 energy exchanges. Our proprietary trading strategy is mainly operated from Oslo, Düsseldorf, London and the Unites States, trading power, natural gas, emission certificates, oil and petroleum products in the global markets.

Job Description

The Options Trading team develops both technical and systematic strategies in many energy markets that Statkraft Trading is active in using standardized linear and non-linear products (options). The team manages a cross-commodity options book, trades volatility and acts as market maker on power, gas and emission options markets.

The role will report directly to the Head of Options Trading and responsibilities include:

• Support the head options trader in managing the positions across different commodities (Power, Gas, Carbon, Coal, Oil, etc.)
• Follow options market, fit volatility models, execute trades, manage risk
• Constantly learn and adapt trading approaches
• Work on systematic trading strategies
• Build models, analysis, dashboards and reports in python

Qualifications

• Degree in the area of Finance, Science, or Engineering with strong quantitative focus
• Strong analytical skills and commercial mindset
• Strong coding, model development and data science skills in Python
• Passion for the markets and a desire to seize trading opportunities
• Advantageous: Experience in pricing options using black-scholes or other volatility models
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate well, also with external counterparties and brokers
