Job Description:

The position is within Aerostack GmbH, a Joint Venture between Airbus and an automotive company, part of the Airbus strategy to accelerate Zero Emission Aircraft development and build competences and skills in the technology domain.

In order to support the R&D Team in Taufkirchen Ottobrunn, a vacancy for an R&D Engineer Fuel Cell Catalyst & Machine Learning (d/f/m) has arisen at Aerostack GmbH.

The job holder reports operationally and functionally to the Head of MEA R&D.

Main Tasks and Accountabilities:

• Lead engineer for fuel cell catalyst systems development

• Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence skills

• Correlating catalyst systems with functionality of MEA and fuel cell stack

• Technical focal point for suppliers and institutes

• Support CCM and MEA experts

• Guidance of experimental catalyst evaluation and results interpretation

• Developing and validating catalyst systems

• Development of PEM fuel cell catalyst by using machine learning approaches with partners

• Definition of ex-situ testing protocols

• Support development of accelerated stress test protocols

• Ensure proper documentation and archiving

Required Skills:

• Master degree in electrochemistry, physical chemistry, computer science or similar discipline

• Knowledge of PEM fuel cell technology

• Knowledge in thermodynamics and electrochemistry

• Skills in machine learning or in working with fuel cell catalysts

• Pragmatic mindset and ambition in simplicity

• Fluent English and German language skills
