The Faculty of Language and Information Sciences at the University of Hildesheim invites applications for a visionary W2 Professorship focusing on Multimodal Communication and Translation. This role is strategically embedded within the university's core research areas, particularly "AI in Everyday Life" and "Education and Social Engagement."
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct high-impact research in audiovisual translation and multimodal communication within digital environments.
- Drive interdisciplinary collaboration within the Knowledge Lab Information Literacy and Accessibility and other university research units.
- Deliver high-quality teaching for the Master’s program in Media Text and Media Translation as well as the Bachelor’s program in International Communication and Translation.
- Actively participate in academic self-administration and the continuous evolution of curricula.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with public and private broadcasters and key industry players in the translation sector.
Your Profile
- A university degree in a relevant field, complemented by an outstanding doctorate and pedagogical proficiency.
- Proven academic achievements, typically demonstrated through a junior professorship, habilitation, or equivalent high-level research experience.
- Expertise in at least two key areas: multimodality, information literacy, audiovisual communication, or translation technologies.
- Hands-on experience with cutting-edge technological developments and AI-supported tools.
- A strong track record in acquiring third-party funding and a commitment to promoting young scientists.
- Multilingual capabilities in English and at least one other institute language (French or Spanish), with a willingness to achieve German proficiency (B1 within three years).
