Commercial Banking Tribe
You’ll be joining the Commercial Bank Tribe, who is focusing on the special needs of the small and medium enterprise clients in Germany, a designated area for further growth and investment within Corporate Bank.
We are responsible for the digital transformation of ~800.000 clients in 3 brands, i.e., the establishment of the BizBanking platform including development of digital sales and service processes as well as the automation of processes for this client segment.
We are on a journey of an extensive digitalisation of business processes and to migrate our applications to the cloud. We are working jointly together with our business colleagues in an agile setup, and we are collaborating with stakeholders and engineers from other areas thriving to achieve a highly automated and adoptable process and application landscape.
As a Lead Fullstack Engineer (f/m/x) you will be a team member of our Sales Squads and work closely with both business and IT stakeholders to identify, design and implement new features for our digital sales processes.

Your key responsibilities
- You design and implement features for our digital sales processes for small and medium corporates within Deutsche Bank including implementation of generic features and services which are used across channels and squads.
- You design, develop and document microservice-based & Cloud-native application components which fulfil business requirements as well as technical requirements like observability, scalability, and stability/resilience.
- You analyse existing processes and the underlying system landscape, proactively identify areas of improvements, and discuss them with Product Owners and other stakeholders.
- You are the leading developer in your Squad, i.e., you take over concept and design tasks for more complex features in close cooperation with the architects and business, guide your team members in case of technical questions and impediments and closely collaborate with lead developers of other Squads to ensure that the solutions are aligned E2E.
- You are working in a cross disciplined agile team with shared responsibility and high autonomy and actively engage in the engineering community, share your knowledge and build up a solid network.
Your skills and experiences
- University degree with technological or scientific focus (ideally combined with finance or business knowledge) or extensive working experience.
- Multi-annual experience in fullstack development of robust and reusable code, especially experience with Java, JavaScript (including Node.js framework), Angular JS, Spring framework, APIs (RESTful services), databases.
- Profound knowledge of architectural concepts (e.g. microservice architecture paradigms) as well as good knowledge and experience with DevOps (e.g. Kubernetes platforms like OpenShift, Continuous Integration Systems like TeamCity) and Public Cloud (ideally Google Cloud Platform).
- Experience in leading and guiding software development teams and working in virtual, global teams in an agile setup.
- Very good teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills. You are able to communicate fluently in English, German is a Plus.
