Job Purpose

As part of ESI’s Data team, this position is responsible for providing comprehensive data analysis and business intelligence support activities to various stakeholders within ESI’s businesses. In addition, we are looking for a Data Analyst who will be a true business partner, understanding business needs and leading the support activities to help promote exceptional business performance and increased adoption.

This individual will have the opportunity to become a part of a growing team and function within Element Solutions Inc, whose goal is to provide meaningful data solutions to a diverse portfolio of businesses.

The ideal candidate will have experience identifying and supporting business intelligence solutions, as well as turning raw data into actionable information for a diverse chemical products company with multiple operating units.

Job Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the business units to identify data needs in order to deliver and support data-driven solutions, further expanding ESI’s business intelligence offerings.
• Ability to work with and query large, complex databases, using SQL to extract, manipulate and analyse data to produce insights.
• Develop deep understanding of ESI’s businesses and markets to properly support our stakeholders, translating business requirements into actionable data products.
• Design, create and support Power BI reports / dashboards.
• Supports reporting and analysis for various business initiatives.
• Troubleshoots data integrity issues, analyzes data for completeness to meet business needs.
• Helps foster a strong data culture within the organization and promotes the adoption of BI tools and strategic vision.
• Lead business and organizational stakeholders in adopting best practices to improve data hygiene and data driven decision making.
• Conduct Power BI and data literacy training as necessary.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar technical equivalent.
• 5+ years Financial / Business Analysis experience.
• 5+ years’ experience with data analysis, data mining.
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools (MS Power BI, Tableau, etc).
• Experience with modern cloud platforms.
• Proficiency with SQL and Microsoft Excel.

• Other knowledge / skills: Python, R, scripting languages (PowerShell, Unix shell) a plus.
