University College Freiburg (UCF) promotes and administers unique international and interdisciplinary teaching activities at the University of Freiburg, including the English-language B.A./B.Sc. program in Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS).
UCF is seeking to hire two tutors to support the LAS introductory statistics course “Dealing with Numerical Information” in the summer term 2024.
Primary responsibilities will include
- supervising two weekly tutorial groups:
- (Tutor 1: Fridays 8-10 & 10-12)
- (Tutor 2: Fridays 8-10 & 10-12)
- creating study materials and exercises for students.
- correcting exercise sheets.
- assisting during the examination process and for correction of exams.
Candidates must
- have at minimum a B.A./B.Sc.degree (recognized in Germany),
- be familiar with the theoretical background and application of basic descriptive and inference statistics (e.g. data illustration, correlation, regression, parametric and non-parametric test statistics),
- have excellent English skills (the language of teaching is English),
- be familiar with the statistics package R, and
- be a reliable colleague.
