Energy markets are rapidly changing. De-carbonization, renewables expansion and technological change will further accelerate and RWE is planning to invest into future technologies such as Renewables, Electrolysers and Hydrogen-ready Gas generation. For these strategic investment decisions, our team provides long-term market analysis and commodity price forecasts for the whole RWE group.

• Conduct long-term market analysis and provide commodity price forecasts for the entire RWE group
• Monitor and analyse current regulations and developments in the European energy sector with a focus on Electricity and Hydrogen
• Implement findings and insights into our Hydrogen and Electricity models to ensure accurate and up-to-date forecasting
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across the RWE group to share research findings and insights
Communicate and present analyses directly to senior stakeholders, supporting strategic investment decisions, lobbying efforts, and financial planning initiatives

Your powerful skills
We are looking for someone who shares our passion for energy transition and has the skills to make a meaningful impact.

Your profile includes:

• University Degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent.
• Work experience in energy business, ideally in fundamental modelling and (long-term) analysis of energy markets
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to transfer algorithms into model conduct
• Experienced with tools to process, analyse and visualise large datasets (Python, R, SQL, Tableau)
• Practical knowledge of modelling tools like PLEXOS, PROMOD, UPLAN, or similar mathematical programming languages such as GAMS would be advantageous
• Fluent in English
• Excellent team player, high level of self-motivation and flexibility, ability to work in a competitive environment and to meet tight deadline
