Technical Expert – Ship Electrification Solutions (m/f/d)

at Wärtsilä Deutschland GmbH.

This is a permanent position located in Hamburg, Germany.

Your responsibilities as a Technical Expert:

• Provide expert technical advice, conduct failure and condition analysis, and offer support to other service departments (Sales Support, Projects, Field Service) and marine solutions.
• Conduct field testing, site surveys, and related analysis as needed.
• Contribute to product improvement initiatives based on field feedback screening and analysis results.
• Leverage your experience to provide input for maintenance recommendations and intervals.
• Support reconditioning and retrofit activities. Update product databases and documentation when modifications are made to installations.

What you need to succeed:

• BSc or MSc in Electrical and Automation Engineering.
• Relevant documented experience may compensate for the absence of formal education.
• Technical proficiency in power distribution systems, frequency converters, or automation systems.
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and competence in using engineering and software tools, along with strong technical writing abilities.
• A strong customer focus, as we prioritize customer needs and satisfaction, and maintain high standards for quality.
• Excellent communication skills for effective internal and external interactions, with the ability to thrive in diverse environments.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
