Records information using several computer databases;

Assembles data into a specific sequence; places and locates folders in a systematic file;

Processes requests for reports and information from the public in person and over the telephone;

Takes reports and requests for information via telephone from police officers;

Enters, retrieves, and cancels priority and confidential information into LEADS/NCIC on all Wanted Persons, Auto Thefts, Missing Persons, Stolen Firearms, Temporary Protection Orders, etc.;

Consults books, manuals, catalogs, files, records, legal descriptions, microfilm, microfiche, CRT displays, computer printouts, etc. in order to obtain necessary information for data entry;

Sorts and checks reports; determines proper security level, scans, indexes, redacts, and files all reports;

Operates many complex office machines requiring extensive instruction;

Uses police radio communications systems to respond to queries for warrant and wanted person information, suspects, and license plates for police officers and other authorized personnel;

Processes and maintains various documents including arrest information and police reports;

Communicates with other government agencies and offices to verify confidential information and to respond to notifications and inquires;

May need to communicate with individuals who have limited English language skills.
