accadis International School Bad Homburg is seeking a passionate and qualified Teacher of English and Theory of Knowledge (TOK) to join our bilingual Secondary School. Experience with IGCSE and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) curricula is highly desirable. If you can offer additional subjects, please include this in your application. You have

• A teaching qualification for English at Secondary School level and extensive experience teaching language and literature classes.
• A strong understanding of the Theory of Knowledge curriculum within the IB DP.
• Experience teaching linguistically diverse learning groups.
• Excellent IT skills to effectively use our modern learning environment.
• Native-speaker level English language skills.
• Good German language skills or a willingness to learn.
• Personal qualities that motivate and inspire students.
• Open-mindedness, flexibility, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.

Your area of responsibility

• Teaching English in the Secondary School (from Grade 5 onwards).
• Teaching Theory of Knowledge in the IB DP (Grades 11 and 12).
• Focusing on student learning and development, providing extension and support as needed to help students reach their potential.
• Collaborating closely with other teaching staff across the Secondary School.
• Actively participating in conferences.
• Communicating with parents and guardians.

Who we are

Welcome to accadis International School, a family-run, non-profit educational institution at SÜDCAMPUS Bad Homburg, near Frankfurt am Main. Under accadis Bildung GmbH, we offer a unique holistic educational concept from Kindergarten to PhD studies at our accadis Hochschule (University of Applied Sciences). At accadis International School, students learn bilingually, with subjects taught in both English and German. accadis ISB is an official IB World School since January 2016 and accredited by Cambridge International Education for IGCSE courses in Grades 9 and 10.

Our students

The school provides a supportive and challenging environment where students are encouraged to become responsible and independent learners. accadis ISB caters to a diverse range of students, serving both local and international families. We currently welcome approximately 550 students aged 5-18 in our Elementary and Secondary Schools, and 125 children in our Bilingual Preschool, representing over 50 nationalities.

Our school

accadis ISB, founded in 2004, is located on a modern campus featuring a sports hall with an outdoor basketball court. We have expanded our spaces and facilities to meet growing demand, including a library, two Art rooms, and a Music room for the Elementary School. In early 2023, we opened a new building exclusively for our Secondary School students, featuring over 20 new classrooms, specialist spaces for Science, Art, Music, and Drama, two libraries, and a cafeteria. The new auditorium, accommodating up to 250 people, is utilized by all parts of our organization. The school emphasizes technology, with state-of-the-art learning environments including interactive whiteboards, Google Chromebook laptops, school-wide high-speed Wi-Fi, and a 3D printer.
