J.W. Ostendorf - a part of Hempel is seeking a Quality Officer / Associate to help drive quality assurance in Operational and Supporting functions. This new and exciting role is open to individuals already working within a Quality capacity role or someone who is either looking for a career change, or is just starting their career but has production experience and an eye for detail.

The role will require you to be involved in a multitude of activities, such as offering support in quality improvement initiatives, maintain critical business management documentation in line with our family of ISO accreditations, as well as support with customer complaint investigations. In addition, along with other colleagues, you will be a key contact during audits and provide summarised reports to the senior management team.

The successful candidate will support the wider QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental) Decorative Team in supporting the Decorative Quality and Business Management Systems Manager (who is based in the UK) in raising the profile of quality at J.W. Ostendorf - a part of Hempel, with local management team support based in Coesfeld, Germany.

The candidate will also have the opportunity to work independently and offer opportunities for improvement to the wider business. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a key customer focused drive and able to work to deadlines.

The Quality Officer/ Associate will also support the site in maintaining its site accreditations in respect of Environmental Obligations, specifically assisting in compiling application dossiers collaborating closely and liaising with accreditation bodies and the wider JWO team.

Whilst the position is based in Germany, Coesfeld and part of the Decorative Europe Segment of Hempel, they will be integral to the performance of the JWO site but also contributing to the Quality Strategy of the Decorative segment. Hempel’s operating language is English and therefore the candidate must be proficient in both written and spoken English as well as German.

This role can be very challenging when delivering the news no one wants to hear, therefore they must not become panicked and stressed easily and are able to get there point across expertly. The individual must recognize Hempel is a very diverse business, with English being our primary language, therefore written and spoken skills are critical. There role is to allow the Q/BMS Manager regular feedback on the sites performance and advise him on how we can collectively win together.
