The Chair of Proteomics and Bioanalytics of the Technical University of Munich located in Freising Weihenstephan invites applications for a SCIENCE MANAGER with a strong background or interest in strategic planning, project management, operations and, ideally, protein science.

Science manager

with a strong background or interest in strategic planning, project management, operations and, ideally, protein science. This is a key and future-oriented position in our interdisciplinary team of scientists and technical staff from the fields of analytical chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology and bioinformatics. The most important responsibilities include:

• Strategic planning of scientific directions, operations and infrastructure
• Pre- and post-award management of EU and national research grants
• Organization of scientific events, meetings and outreach activities
• General administrative tasks and support for the principal investigator

Requirements: Successful candidates hold a MSc or PhD degree in a life science discipline and, ideally, have a background and strong interest in protein science. Demonstrated project management and organizational experience are expected. The candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal skills and be in full command of the English and German languages.

We are looking for a self-motivated and broadly interested individual with the ability to work independently as well as in a team in a fast-paced environment.

Our offer: You will work closely with an interdisciplinary and highly motivated team that uses the latest proteomic approaches to help fighting cancer. Depending on skills and interest, the position allows to active participation our research. The Technical University of Munich is one of the best academic institutions in Germany and offers a stimulating work environment and excellent future perspectives. The position is initially available for three years and the salary follows the TVL/E13 scale.
