Come work on the Amazon Robotics – Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging (MSP) Team!
We are seeking an outstanding Technical Program Manager to champion the performance management and performance indicator landscape for our organization's products. This key role involves partnering with internal Customers (Operations, Maintenance, Process, OpsEngineering, etc.), external stakeholders (e.g. vendors), and MSP team members to guarantee solutions meet critical performance management requirements.
The MSP team spearheads future innovation across Mechatronics and Packaging, covering industrial hardware/control machines like robotic cells, autonomous vehicles, sortation, packing technologies, and packaging materials. We forge strategic partnerships with key stakeholders such as Operations, RME, ACES, Supply Chain, Transportation, WW Design, etc., ensuring the delivery of robust products seamlessly integrated into the Amazon Fulfillment network.
As Technical Program Manager - Performance Management, you will spearhead initiatives to ensure our product's performance management capabilities – KPI systems, information access, and deep dive opportunities – meet the high standards of our customer's requirements. This demands close collaboration with customers (primarily Customer Fulfillment Operations) and stakeholders (e.g., ACES, WWDE, Supply Chain, Operations Engineering, Finance).
The ideal candidate excels at driving multiple initiatives simultaneously, leveraging support from other teams and peers. Effective verbal and written communication skills are vital for fostering alignment between MSP and other functions. Success in this role requires working across large engineering and operations teams, driving quality across all products. Strong attention to detail, technical understanding, communication skills, collaboration, analytical and abstract thinking, time management, and organizational skills are essential.
Key job responsibilities
- Travel 50 - 75% of the time, to capture voice-of-the-customer and anecdotes first hand, and generate buy-in for initiatives
- Collaborate with BI/Data Engineering teams to drive the delivery of KPIs and access to information
- Support reporting of key performance metrics across internal & external stakeholders
- Work closely with technical leaders and program managers to compose and influence product improvement roadmap
- Write effective narratives and present them to Directors and VPs
- Unblock other team members through access to information, and support their inquiries for decision-critical information
- Demonstrate strong program management, organizational, and leadership skills to facilitate effective, collaborative project meetings
This role demands experience in developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps within automation and robotics. Prior experience working directly with automation and robotics engineering teams is a must.
