As a Regional Health & Safety Manager, you will join our International Health & Safety Team to ensure safe, efficient, and healthy environments across our construction projects. This role is pivotal for implementing high safety standards and maintaining compliance across the MEU region, including Germany, Poland, and Austria. You will report to the International Field Lead and manage safety compliance for both existing and new vendor agreements.

Your expertise in local construction safety standards and behavioral safety will be crucial. You will engage with cross-functional teams to develop standard operating procedures and scale safety compliance processes globally. By leveraging our digital management system (BOLT), you will analyze data to identify trends and implement mitigation strategies. This position offers a unique opportunity to drive a proactive safety culture and provide a functional link between various departments like Operations Engineering, Procurement, and Real Estate.

Key job responsibilities

• Foster effective working relationships with developers and contractors regarding construction health and safety.
• Drive accountability for incidents and near misses alongside program managers.
• Coordinate with external health and safety consultants and SMEs.
• Conduct site visits to provide guidance and ensure adherence to local legislation and internal standards.
• Analyze safety metrics to identify trends and present insights during Weekly Business Reviews.
• Participate in audits and inspections to verify compliance and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with the Field Assurance Team to meet country-specific requirements across MEU.
• Support the Global Procurement Organization in evaluating new vendors based on safety data.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

You hold a degree in Environmental Safety or an equivalent Master certification. An international safety certification such as NEBOSH is required. You possess extensive experience in safety management within construction environments and are fully bilingual in German and English.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

A proven track record of managing teams remotely is highly valued. You should have a strong understanding of international construction safety regulations and experience with digital safety management systems. Additional language skills in Polish, Portuguese, or Turkish are an advantage.
