💻 Lead Software Engineer - Logistics Engineering (all genders) bei Zalando SE in Erfurt

As a Software Engineer in our Logistics Engineering team, you will build and scale high-performance logistics systems that drive the delivery of millions of products to customers across Europe. You will join dynamic engineering teams responsible for optimizing stock distribution, managing warehouse intake and returns, designing algorithms for automation and workforce efficiency, and streamlining fulfillment processes to minimize errors.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

You will design, develop, and test high-quality features deployed directly to production to deliver immediate value to our customers.

You will enhance the developer experience within your team by automating routine tasks and increasing test coverage.

You will scale and maintain existing software components by developing new capabilities, refining features, and resolving technical issues.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

Strong hands-on experience in software engineering using JVM-based languages such as Java or Kotlin.

Practical knowledge or experience working with TypeScript or JavaScript.

• Familiarity with frameworks like Spring Boot, KTOR, or React is a plus.
• A solid understanding of product value and customer impact.
• Commitment to learning software design principles, engineering best practices, and clean code fundamentals.
• Interest in monitoring real-time production performance and system behavior alongside your team.
