We are an independent publishing company working on a series of high-quality, collectible publications that span genres from home decor and sustainable fashion to literature and lifestyle. Each publication is meticulously crafted, blending compelling stories with modern design for a visually stunning experience.

Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled Layout Designer with a strong portfolio in editorial design to create visually cohesive layouts for both print and digital formats. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, understands the nuances of typography, and can bring unique content to life through elegant and innovative layouts.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Layout Creation: Develop layouts for magazines, books, and special publications, ensuring consistency, readability, and aesthetic appeal.
Creative Direction Collaboration: Work closely with the editorial and design team to understand the vision for each publication, interpreting the theme, story, and mood into cohesive design concepts.
Typography & Visual Balance: Apply strong typography skills to ensure readability and create visually engaging designs.
Asset Management: Organize and incorporate images, illustrations, and other assets into the layout, collaborating with photographers and illustrators to ensure quality and cohesion.
Adaptability: Create layouts that work across both print and digital platforms, adjusting designs as needed for each medium.

Requirements

Proven experience in layout or editorial design, ideally with a portfolio showcasing print publications or magazines
Proficiency in design software (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
Strong understanding of typography, grid systems, and visual hierarchy
Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to meet tight deadlines
Familiarity with print production and file preparation for print (pre-press knowledge is a plus)
