Our team studies biological signaling and protein function on a proteome-wide scale using mass spectrometry (www.proteasedegradomics.org). A major focus of our research are dynamic proteolytic processes regulating protein abundance, function and interactions in eukaryotic systems. We now wish to recruit a scientist who complements and strengthens our expertise and research activities in plant signaling and plant stress responses.
Your tasks
- Teaching (Lehrdeputat 4 SWS) in biochemistry and proteomics in the BSc and MSc curricula. This includes participation in examinations and grading.
- Develop independent research projects in plant biology that complement and strengthen the activities of the group, CIBSS, the SFB1381, and new initiatives.
- Contribute to collaborative research projects and grant applications of the group.
- Contribute to method development and mass spectrometry operation.
- (Co-) supervise graduate and undergraduate students and visiting scientists.
- Participate in administrative duties.
Your profile
- Qualifying PhD degree in (plant) biology, biochemistry, or related area.
- Proven experience in plant sciences and proteomics.
- First author and/or senior author publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Ideally 2 years post-doctoral research experience.
- Experience in funding acquisition and university teaching are strong advantages.
- Motivation, self-organization and team player skills.
- Fluency in English is essential, German is beneficial.

This position is initially limited to three years with the possibility of renewal up to a total of six years. The position provides an opportunity for further qualification for university teaching (Habilitation). Civil servant requirements must be fulfilled. The salary will be determined in accordance with A13.
