The Hoetker lab at the University Hospital Heidelberg focuses on the corruption of cellular identity in diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL). We aim to decode epigenetic principles of disease, in particular targeting enhancers and other regulatory elements. The final aim of our studies is to translate the experimental findings into novel treatment strategies for patients at diagnosis and relapse.

Your Tasks

The postdoctoral fellow will work in a team of enthusiastic biologists and medical scientists with the aim to uncover epigenetic mechanisms of lymphomagenesis as well as therapy resistance and relapse, and to target the non-coding genome as a new therapeutic avenue for DLBCL
Focus on chromatin biology, 3D genome topology, and its interplay with transcriptional dysregulation in cancer
Single-cell and bulk epigenetic sequencing approaches in primary patient samples
Responsible for planning and performing of experiments in the framework of the scientific project plan
Preparation and presentation of project reports and publications

Your Profile

MD or PhD in biology, biochemistry or equivalent
Broad expertise in molecular biology (Western blotting, immunoprecipitations, epigenetic assays, gene expression analysis, cloning, cell culture, lentiviral transductions, flow cytometry, microscopy etc.), experience in NGS techniques and analysis, CRISPR-based epigenetic editing and genome editing techniques
Experience in writing scientific reports and papers
Very good knowledge of and experience with MS office, graphic programs, statistical software, bioinformatics tools and online tools (e.g. Illustrator, ImageJ, GraphPad Prism, R, BLAST)
Fluent both in written and spoken English language
