Would you like to work as a production technician, being in charge of operating and improving our mycelium production at scale to change with us the way we produce and consume food? As a Production Technician at Mushlabs, your primary role will be to support the production team to run and standardize our fermentation process, as well as coordinate with other teams and departments to ensure constant supply of mushroom mycelia for prototyping and final product production.

• Responsible for the preparation of media and bio-reactors for our production

• Cultivation of different fungal strains

• Operation of pilot and production fermenters as well as fermentation in flasks

• Perform laboratory analyses of relevant analytes

• Establishing stable seed lines and sustain the sterility of the production process

• Maintain a safe, clean and organized laboratory environment

• Coordinate with our Product Development and R&D Teams to establish standard in house biomass production processes

• Stabilize our in house production process with other colleagues in the team

• Completed professional training as a fermentation technician, production technician, biological-technical assistant (BTA), chemical-technical assistant (CTA), chemical technician, or equivalent

• Knowledge of CIP and SIP technologies as well as the precise preparation of media

• Min. 2 years of experience in fermentation at pilot and industrial scale, microbiological methods and work under sterile conditions

• Experience in routine analytics (HPLC, UV-Vis, GC-MS, LC-MS, Plate count, etc.) and mycology as a bonus

• Great self-organisational skills– you can multitask and are energized by working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

• The ability to work effectively in a team environment and influence technical direction

• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal

• English is required - German is a plus
