In this role you will be responsible for developing and executing the Data Strategy for ZEAL as well as lead and develop our Data teams.
The role is based in Hamburg. In case you are based elsewhere, regular presence in Hamburg (or relocation) would be required.
- Develop and implement the overall data strategy for the company, working closely with the CTO and other tech and business unit leaders
- Create an aligned business intelligence approach which covers the data strategy as well as data ownership within ZEAL
- Oversee and coordinate the work of data analytics, engineering, and science teams, ensuring that all projects are delivered
- Lead and manage the data teams, ensuring they work effectively and efficiently with a clear impact on the business; while taking care of their personal growth
- Lead the implementation of the company data governance
- Lead the analytical data architecture from a strategic and technical perspective and promote a strong data culture within the company
- Lead the data science initiatives that empower ZEAL to take informed decisions and that ultimately drive a great customer experience
- Provide exceptional business consulting to key stakeholders
- Collaborate with other departments and leaders to ensure that data is used effectively across the company and that data-related projects align with overall business goals
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the data space, and make recommendations for how the company can leverage these trends to improve its data capabilities
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Data Engineering or Data Science roles, including 5+ years in a leadership position
- Advanced Data Science working experience (hands-on or via managing)
- Experience in working within E-Commerce workflows and the corresponding data elements as well as KPI's
- Strong technical knowledge of data architecture as well as strong expertise in data analytics infrastructure
- Strong understanding of data science concepts, practices and ways of working
- Proven experience leading and managing data projects, including experience with high-scalability data platforms and tools
- Proven experience setting up Data Governance and Data Lifecycle Management practices
- Good understanding of industry-specific data regulations and certifications, such as GDPR, SOC2, ISO27001, etc
- Strong communication skills to translate business requirements and department needs to ensure an end2end data quality and consistency, with experience building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to deliver high-quality work, incl. a high decisiveness to build and drive a strategic data vision incl. active execution
