THE ROLE & THE TEAM

As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role in our Fashion Analysis & Insights team at Zalando. You will support the Sports Proposition Team by driving data-driven decisions and achieving our ambitious targets. For example, these colleagues will come to you to ask which part of the assortment is bringing value to our customers, to our partners, and to Zalando. With sophisticated analysis, you will be able to understand our customer’s preferences for our most loved sports brands and give further steering suggestions. Your analysis will impact how we make investment decisions and how we deliver what our customers love.

WHAT WE'D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND DOING) ...

• Bring the data-driven analytical approach in the Sports Proposition; you generate hypotheses and try to test them by performing descriptive, exploratory, and quantitative analyses.

• You can translate data into actionable insights for the business. You know when a hypothesis can only be tested by an experiment, and you can help create and drive them.

• Collaborate with wider Zalando data teams and incorporate data from different sources within and outside of Zalando to drive projects in the category which aim to maximise potential and improve accuracy on budget investment decisions, supported by data visualisation and storytelling.

• Be a reliable partner for the Merchandising and Buying Team when related to reporting and analytics, and support the Category Team with more complex analysis.

WE'D LOVE TO MEET IF YOU

• Candidate with 3+ years of work experience in the e-commerce industry working with big data. Education in Computer Science/Mathematics/Statistics or quantitative social science is a plus)

• You have an analytical mindset, and you are able to create relevant analyses from existing data sets, translate results into digestible insights & make decision proposals for the management.

• You are very familiar with data visualisation tools (MSTR, Google DataStudio, Tableau, etc.)

• You have proficient experience in data manipulation and visualisation with Python. Additional experience in Databricks is considered a plus. Constant drive and tenacity to learn new techniques and tools are a must.

• Not afraid to make an impact, spot inefficiencies, and make improvements with a hands-on mentality. We are looking for a person who always finds solutions to challenges. You are proactive, can adapt quickly to changes, and always remain focused on our quality objectives.
