We are looking for experienced, innovative and motivated IT Specialists to support enablement US AFRICOM’s mission objectives.
What You’ll Get to Do:
CACI has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, Lead Systems Administrator. This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization, US AFRICOM located OCONUS in Stuttgart, Germany. This position is required to travel OCONUS.
The Lead Systems Administrator will supervise a team of system administrators delivering IT capabilities to the US AFRICOM customer base. Additionally, the lead will provide guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and secure operation of all systems.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assign tasks and provide technical guidance
- Identify areas for improvement, and steer support services toward transparency and stability
- Implement and enforce security measures, including user access controls, firewall configurations, and data backup strategies
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources for maximum efficiency
- Perform regular system upgrades, patches, and maintenance tasks to ensure system reliability and security
- Develop and document standard operating procedures and guidelines for system administration tasks
- Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to integrate systems, resolve technical issues, and implement new technologies
- Conduct system audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and propose solutions

The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, have strong leadership skills, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts. The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users.
Additionally, the Lead Systems Administrator will provide remote support and/or travel to customer sites as required.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- BA/BS + 5 years recent specialized or AA/AS + 9 years recent specialized or a major cert + 9 years recent specialized or 13 years of recent specialized experience.
- Currently hold an adjudicated Secret Clearance and be able to obtain a top secret clearance
- 3 years recent team leadership experience
- DoD 8570.01 IAT level II certification (MCSA or Azure Equivalent) AND (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND: EC-Council’s Certified Network Defender (CND), or SSCP)
- Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- ITIL v4 - Foundation
- Experience with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidelines.
- Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards
