The Surface Technologies global business unit of BASF's Coatings division, operating under the Chemetall brand, is a leading supplier of applied surface technologies for metal, plastic and glass substrates. These specialty chemicals are used in many industries and markets, such as automotive, aerospace, aluminum finishing, coil or in the metalworking industry - supported by a large network of technical experts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a new global role in the Automotive OEM Segment with the target to increase efficiencies and improve global technical steering of OEM customers. This new role will act as a technical sparrings partner for all Global Key Accounts who are mainly focusing on commercial tasks.

• Steer global harmonization and customer requirements on technical level, prioritizes technical standards across global teams
• Support GKAMs & countries with approval processes at the customer HQs
• Consult GKAMs & countries with product suggestions, discuss process materials, share experiences of other regions/countries
• Collect and translate new customer requirements into ECT and answer customers accordingly
• Support GKAMs in RFQs with best process choice and consumption values (for CPP, CPU)
• Accompany GKAM or countries to important technical customer meetings
• Support Implementation of harmonized process manuals

QUALIFICATIONS

• Technical education or completed master’s degree in the field of chemistry, engineering or comparable education
• Several years of professional experience in Automotive OEM
• Strong technical understanding ideally of pretreatment processes and proven experience in surface treatment
• Strong project management skills, very good stakeholder management and ability to communicate effectively across different hierarchies and geographies
• Highly motivated, self-starter, excellent organizational and people skills, flexibility to travel as needed, up to 50% of the time (including international travel)
• Passion for Automotive OEM
