The Education Team at Ottobock Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Education Specialist to provide an impact in the realm of continuing education and professional development.

This position requires O&P clinical experience and a foundation in instructional design, as well as an inherent desire to teach. Ottobock Healthcare aims to provide a positive working environment that emphasizes work/life balance. This full-time position offers the ability to work from home remotely (or a hybrid working environment at the Austin, TX office)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develops and designs virtual synchronous and asynchronous courses/curriculum
• Edits, updates, and refines course online content and ancillary course materials
• Designs learning activities, assignments, and post-course assessments
• Collaborates with subject matter experts to develop course content
• Keeps current with best practices in instructional design and education development
• Writes scripts for video and audio content
• Teaches O&P-related content to internal and external customers
• Interacts with internal and external customers to provide superior service, product support, and education
• Works closely with other departments, including customer service, marketing communications, sales, and product management
• Plans and participates in local and regional industry meetings and trade shows
• Promotes the use of Ottobock products to healthcare professionals
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Excellent writing skills, including advanced skills in grammar, spelling, punctuation, research, and outlining
• Verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical colleagues
• Excellent project management and organizational skills
• Knowledge of instructional theory and design, including learning assessment
• Proficiency with digital platforms, authoring tools, or learning management systems (LMS)
• Experience with presentation platforms and design software
• Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Prioritization and management of multiple simultaneous deadlines
• Autonomy and initiative in driving projects and completing work tasks
• Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills

Education, Experience & Licensing Requirements:

• Certificate, bachelor’s degree, or master’s degree in orthotics, prosthetics, or physical therapy
• Active clinical certification and/or state licensure
• Experience as a classroom instructor, trainer, or provider of continuing education
• Certification, bachelor’s degree or master’s degree (or similar) in education, instructional design, or a related teaching field
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a practicing O&P clinician or therapist
• Ability to travel as needed (10-15%)

Compensation Data

Annual Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
