The position is open for our office in GRASBRUNN, Munich district.

Job Overview:

We seek a technical lead for our functional-safety qualified C/C++ toolchain in the automotive domain.

Arm is working with automotive industry partners on standards to help improve safety, enable innovation and agility, deliver advanced features, and support new business models driven by the software-defined vehicle.

On top of delivering IP, Arm is also a supplier of tools, so to support the growth of Arm's Automotive business, we are creating a Functional Safety / Tool Qualification team focusing on C/C++ toolchains.

This new team will be responsible to ensure that our Functional Safety toolchain meets the Automotive safety standards (ISO26262) as well as our automotive customers expectations of scope and delivery timeline.

We are looking for a Lead Engineer in Grasbrunn (Munich), Germany, who will play a crucial role in the succes of this team.

Responsibilities:

The technical lead will:

Talk to the software teams of automotive customers to understand their requirements and how to achieve them using qualified tools and libraries
Identify the features required by the toolchain to successfully build open-source software
Define software requirements, create the software architecture, supervise their implementation and develop design documents
Build tools to help customers analyze their software for safety-related issues such as defects
Interface with the toolchain development team, making sure customer requested features and safety-related defects are prioritized
Support the Safety Manager with technical expertise to develop the safety documentation required for successful certification of the product.

Required Skills and Experience :

Experience of the full software development lifecycle from requirements to implementation, verification and release
Proven industrial experience of FuSa software development as per at least one of the Functional Safety standards: ISO 26262, EN 50128, IEC 61508, IEC 62304
Good interpersonal and communication skills in English
Willingness to work with different teams, senior colleagues, management, partners and users of our toolchains

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :

Arm or other embedded development experience
C/C++ development in a systems programming environment
Technical writing skills
Experience working in a small team in an agile environment
Experience in a customer support role
