Definition
Under general direction, is responsible for managing the functions of a unit of the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging (COAAA) that provides long-term health and/or social service programs available through COAAA; performs related duties as required.
Examples of Work
(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all of the duties that may be performed.)

Oversees the procurement of service providers and recommends service providers to the Ohio Department of Aging for certification;

Participates with other Area Agency administrative staff in the establishment of referral, billing, and reimbursement procedures;

Establishes policies and procedures, standards of operation, quality assurance standards, and formal methods for evaluating compliance;

Evaluates existing programs and interpret, suggest, and develop revisions of policies and procedures for programs servicing older adults and/or individuals with a high level of health and service needs;

Develops and implements new programs, projects, and services for COAAA;

Oversees and directs training for community professionals and agency staff;

Serves as liaison with service providers and other organizations for the Area Agency regarding administrative practices and problems;

Assists the Area Agency’s Fiscal Officer in developing budget and enrollment projections;

Serves as a staff representative to the Advisory Council;

Represents the Area Agency in planning and coordinating with other agencies, including serving on boards and committees.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of experience providing or coordinating the delivery of health or social service programs for consumers. Substitution(s): A master’s degree in health services administration, business administration, public administration, nursing, social work, or geriatrics may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
