The Senior Building Services Engineer works independently on various projects as assigned by a Project Manager or Director of Building Services. The Senior Building Services Engineer may oversee the entire design process or assist as a technical expert on a specialized design. The Senior Engineer may work on several concurrent projects and some management responsibility is expected.

IPS Germany is continuing to hire! We are looking for a talented Senior Building Services Engineer (TGA/Versorgungstechnik) to join our industry leading Design Engineering Team at either our Frankfurt or Nürnberg office with remote working flexibility.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for all HVAC (HLK), black utilities, public health services, building management systems, environmental monitoring systems and fire protection systems. A knowledge of clean utility systems is desirable.
- Assesses the requirements of a project, breaks project into tasks and works with Project Managers / Director of Building Services to determine scope of work, budget and staffing.
- Writes scope of work documents for Mechanical Building Services design based on preliminary review meetings with the client.
- Prepares engineering studies and schematic designs for new systems and analyzes the operation of existing systems.
- Works with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes / regulations is required.
- Assigns and reviews work of project design team. Checks progress of work and alerts the Project Manager of scope changes or the need for additional services.
- Reviews contractor technical bids and application for payments. Has a thorough understanding of the construction process.
- Coordinates all aspects of project document completion within company and externally with clients and other design professionals.
- Prepares or reviews construction budgets based on experience and scope of project.
- Promotes use of and participates in development of company design and production standards.
- Assists in the education and development of design staff and act as resource for design questions.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Substantial experience in the design of BioPharm facilities and associated utilities for the cGMP production of biological and pharmaceutical drugs.
- Technical apprenticeship and/or Degree educated in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer aided drafting.
- General knowledge of system design and applicable Building Services codes and standards.
- Has a demonstrated ability to manage projects, problem solve, communicate effectively to all key personnel, and time.
- Possess a valid EU work permit.
