Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 10 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or communications.

• Ability to communicate in German and English fluently, this is a customer-facing role that requires interactions in German with local stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

• Understanding of cloud technologies and local technology landscape.
• Ability to develop and maintain media relationships with local business and technology press.
• Ability to own, be accountable, and delegate and grow careers of staffers.

Excellent research and investigative skills, with the ability to quickly identify trending topics and issues.

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

About the Job

Are you passionate about cloud technology and communication? Google Germany GmbH is seeking a dynamic Communications Manager to lead cloud communications in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH). In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally to communicate our business, customer, partner, and corporate stories to the media. Scale existing programs across multiple countries, develop strategies aligned with local culture, and craft compelling narratives relevant to the cloud industry. Partnering closely with Sales leadership, Marketing, Policy, Legal, and fellow Google PR team members, you will share our cloud successes in tech, business, vertical, and channel press. Adapt and localize global news, create impactful press releases and blog posts, build a pipeline of local announcements, and manage agencies to secure strategic media coverage. You'll engage with executives across the organization and at our customer and partner companies.

• Represent a high visibility business or product area, acting as a spokesperson.

• Manage agencies for high visibility programs by defining objectives, identifying key tasks or work streams, providing content, and establishing and monitoring budget.

• Represent communications perspective within cross-functional product area and business areas.

• Manage editorial inquiries and requests for information release. Promote the story and work with the journalist to provide additional information.

• Coordinate and facilitate interviews and review briefing materials to prepare key spokespeople for cross-functional communications, coaching executives on PR and external communications to be effective Google spokespeople.
