Your Role

Professionally and disciplinary lead an interdisciplinary team of technology and application experts
Develop new ideas for assistance features and systems and validate them by defining and executing innovation projects with your team
Pro-actively shape the ZEISS roadmap for medical robotics and assistance systems and manage the team-internal project portfolio
Establish and leverage a network within ZEISS, in the academic research community and with medical key opinion leaders
Present and discuss new project ideas and results with a broad internal and external audience, ranging from technical experts to business unit upper management
Attract top talent to ZEISS and further grow your team
As part of the Innovation Hub @ KIT leadership team, support further growth and strategic development of the hub
Coordinate and prioritize the allocation of your team’s resources to studies, innovation projects and other activities

Your Profile

A Master’s degree or PhD in engineering, natural sciences, or medicine
Experience in medical technology development, ideally in robotics, surgical scene understanding, assistance systems, or soft tissue simulation
Ideally, a deep application understanding of at least one medical domain, ideally ophthalmology or micro-surgery
Several years of experience in leading teams in an industrial research environment (lateral or disciplinary)
Passion for innovation and enthusiasm for new technologies, which you will use to inspire and empower your team
Strong communication and social skills, combined with intrinsic motivation and high resilience
Fluency in English and German
