The III. Department of Medicine and the Hamburg Center for Kidney Health ( www.hckh.or... [Vollständig anzeigen] ) at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf are dedicated to the care of patients and to experimental and clinical kidney research with several internationally leading research programs. You will be an integral part of a highly motivated and interdisciplinary team of scientists, students and clinicians aiming to identify mechanisms and new treatment options for various human kidney diseases.
We are looking for a highly motivated, curious and enthusiastic post-doc with extensive experience in molecular biology, the separation and characterization of extracellular vesicles and animal models of immune-mediated disease or kidney diseases to join our lively and dedicated team to elucidate molecular mechanisms of immune-mediated kidney diseases.
The position offers the applicant a unique opportunity to work on important medical issues in a community of interactive research labs, bioinformatics experts, core facilities, and computational resources.
Our young group is specifically interested in understanding the role of extracellular vesicles in the development, maintenance and resolution of kidney diseases. We assume that extracellular vesicles can be used both as biomarkers and as therapeutic targets and/or vehicles to improve the diagnosis and management of patients with kidney diseases.
We offer a full-time position (part-time position possible) as scientific employee in the field of medical research at the UKE starting on the 1st of March 2024 (flexible). The position is third-party funded and the initial contract will be for 3 years with the possibility of further extension.
Your responsibilites
- Planning and implementation of animal-experimental analyses of mouse-models
- Working with cutting-edge bulk- and single-vesicle analyses as well as single-cell genomics technologies (single-cell RNA-seq, single-cell ATAC-seq and spatial transcriptomics), in combination with ultrasensitive proteomic measurements
- Working with in vitro cell culture or organoid models
- Development of new protocols and workflows
- Writing research and review papers, and contribute to the peer-review process and grant writing
