Take a pivotal role in shaping the future of our quantum algorithms deployed on our innovative photonic quantum architecture. Your responsibilities will include gaining a deep understanding of the fundamental operating principles of our hardware platform and conducting simulations to develop novel algorithms that best align with this technology. Additionally, you'll explore strategies for mitigating and correcting quantum errors, with the ultimate goal of achieving universal algorithms on a scalable photonic quantum computer.
Responsibilities
- Innovate and derive new algorithms, while also enhancing and adapting existing ones for our photonic quantum computing system.
- Develop strategies for quantum error mitigation and correction tailored to photonic quantum algorithms.
- Conduct simulations of quantum algorithms, considering various parameter constraints, to define the hardware specifications required for our platform, including size, accuracy, noise levels, and scalability.
- Optimize quantum algorithms, accounting for the unique advantages, external factors, and noise channels in our photonic quantum computing environment.
- Deepen your understanding of the underlying working principles of our photonic approach to leverage its benefits for the creation of novel photonic quantum computing algorithms.
- Maintain a strong curiosity and stay abreast of the latest scientific and technological developments in this rapidly evolving field.
Requirements
- A Master's or PhD degree in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Profound knowledge of quantum computing, quantum physics, quantum optics, and non-linear optics.
- Familiarity with quantum algorithms for NISQ (Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum) quantum accelerators, such as VQE, QAOA, QML, as well as for universal quantum computing, including gated-based, cluster-state, and measurement-based approaches.
- Valuable hands-on experience in algorithm development or in the field of photonic quantum computing is a strong advantage.
- Proficiency in programming, particularly in Python and/or other high-level programming languages, and prior experience with quantum programming languages and software development kits (SDKs).
- A responsible, creative, and collaborative approach to work in a dynamic start-up environment.
- Strong language skills in both German and English.
