The team of Commercial Asset Management (CAM) commercially manages the Asset Fleet of RWE Power AG & RWE Generation SE and develops opportunities by connecting Generation, Trading and Grid Business, combined with Market and Regulatory expertise.

Within CAM, the Contract Management team manages and commercially optimizes all existing and future contractual positions the fleet in Germany and Benelux has towards counterparties including grid operators. It facilitates the energy transition of the asset fleet to reach RWE’s ‘2040 net zero CO2’ goal and is therefore looking for a highly motivated colleague with technical and commercial drive and strong negotiation skills.

In this environment the Contract Management team is looking for a highly motivated, flexible colleague with commercial drive and strong negotiation skills being responsible either for the full range of different contracts and tasks or for specified areas the team is responsible for. These are:

• Asset based commodity and service contracts
• Grid contracts
• Special tasks and projects

You can look forward to the following areas of responsibility:

• Manage & optimize existing and future contractual positions of the German and Benelux fleet towards counterparties; these are long term power supply and off-take-contracts, tolling agreements, heat and steam contracts with industrial and municipal customers, joint ventures and shareholding agreements and O&M contracts for power stations
• Manage the full range of different contracts with TSOs and DSOs, including:
  • Grid connection, access and usage contracts for power and gas
  • Decentralized feed in contracts
  • Contracts for system services (e.g. black start)
• Dealing with Regulatory topics, e.g. Act on Combined Heat and Power (KWKG)
• Running and supporting special tasks and projects

Your powerful skills

• University degree preferably in physics or engineering or a commercial / economical education preferably with an energy background
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player who strives for transparency and collaboration with integrity, openness and willingness for change and trust
• Strong communication skills with the willingness to "make things happen"
• Curiosity for commercial opportunities, analysing requirements and developing commercial and contractual solutions
• First experience in energy markets
• Willingness to negotiate commercial contracts with external counterparties
• Fluency in English and German

Advantageous, but not a must

• Work experience in project / contract management (power and/or heat projects) or grid business (contracts, legal and regulatory framework)
• Knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework in Germany
