- 3+ years of software engineering fundamentals (OO design, data structures and algorithms, OS basics)

In the EC2 Accelerated Platforms team you will part of a diverse working environment of world-class developers that own end-to-end the GPU-based EC2 instance families. You will have the opportunity to designing and develop the new generation of the accelerated EC2 instance families, including the automation that ensures the high-quality of their build and deployment processes. You will extend and refine existing tools used to monitor the health and availability of the current generations of accelerated EC2 instance families that are used by our customers today. You will also use the tools and automation you own to troubleshoot incidents, provide mitigations, and develop to the long-term fixes for them.
EC2 Accelerated Platforms is a part of AWS Utility Computing (UC) which provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS. Within AWS UC, Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) roles engage with AWS customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.EC2 is looking for an experienced Kernel & Hypervisor Engineer for one of our virtualization organizations. As part of the team, you will be given the chance to have a significant impact on our systems, our business and most importantly our customers, working in diverse work environment with a flexible schedule. You will be building the lowest layer of the Amazon Web Services software stack, engineering new EC2 instance families and developing the EC2 Nitro Hypervisor for AWS. You will have the opportunity to innovate, make new engineering proposals, and explore new areas.

Key job responsibilities
- End-to-end ownership of quality aspects of accelerated EC2 instance families: build automation, software qualification, continuous testing, and monitoring of GPU-based EC2 instance families
- Develop new tools and automation to support hands-off-the-wheel build and qualification processes for building and rolling out new software for existing and future generations of accelerated EC2 instance families
- Champion operational excellence by ensuring thorough instrumentation of the software in the accelerated EC2 instance families, to support effective troubleshooting of production incidents
- Contribute to the technological roadmap of your team.
- Collaborate with other EC2 teams like hardware, nitro hypervisor, software and firmware groups across the globe, driving innovative solutions.
