ABOUT THE ROLE

As a DevOps Engineer, you'll have a direct impact on shaping our systems infrastructure that powers the product helping our customers to get healthy and fit. You will be responsible for keeping our infrastructure reliable, scalable, observable and maintainable to support our continuous user base growth. We are big fans of devops culture, continuous integration/deployment and less bureaucratic process in favour of autonomy and responsibility.

You'll have the chance to work with state-of-the-art tools and technologies and to pioneer in this role and work closely with our CTO Luis and our engineering and product team at the Berlin office.

YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

• Design and build infrastructure & systems that provide high levels of scalability, reliability, and performance, while balancing security, maintainability, and operational excellence

• Partner with product and application teams to provide guidance and best practices around scalability, reliability, and performance of our productions systems, infrastructure, and software

• Solve problems arising from our operations and ensure that the same mistake/error doesn’t happen twice

• Engage in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis and system-tuning

• Be proactive in performance & availability monitoring; provide remediations for systemic issues

• Ingest requirements, scope work, produce estimates and help define deliverables with project timelines

• Help build an SRE team and SRE culture as BEAT81 grows

ABOUT YOU

• Experienced in our tech stack: Google Cloud Platform (or other cloud environments), Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Google Pubsub (or similar), Monitoring solutions, Pulumi, Docker, Cloud Build (or similar)

• You have +4 years of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role

• You are experienced in writing simple, readable, useful code, especially for operational tooling

• You are experienced with configuration management, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Pulumi and Terraform

• You have experience in monitoring a production scale infrastructure and use monitoring data to react to incidents and make decisions

• You have experience implementing cloud permissions and least privilege access at scale

• You have experience with networking design and implementation

• You are fluent in English
