The work schedule for this position is:
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
As part of the Travel & Visitors Unit (TVU) of the General Services Office (GSO), the job holder serves as one of two Visa Clerk / Couriers (Official Travel Clerk). This position assists all U.S. Government (USG) employees in Germany requiring a visa for official travel to foreign countries. He/she submits the completed visa request package in person to the appropriate foreign embassy and follows up until the visa request has been completed and is ready for pick-up. The Visa Clerk / Courier personally picks-up the passport with visa and returns it to the applicant. He/she is further responsible to maintain/update information in the TVU database to track the process on a regular basis. The Visa Clerk / Courier is directly supervised by the Supervisory Travel Assistant.
EXPERIENCE: please address this factor in your ERA application under major duties and responsibilities.
One (1) year prior work experience in a service-oriented field is required.
Completion of secondary school (US: High School Diploma/GED; Germany: state German school degree) is required.
LANGUAGE: please address both language requirements in your ERA application.
Position requires good working knowledge language skills in English (reading/writing/speaking).
Position requires good working knowledge language skills in German (reading/writing/speaking).
This may be tested.
