Full- or part-time | temporary (24 months) with possibility of extension | Laboratory of Immune Signals in Cancer
Technical University of Munich (TUM), Center for Translational Cancer Research
The Laboratory of Immune Signals in Cancer, led by Professor Jürgen Ruland, is part of the Center for Translational Cancer Research at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). We investigate fundamental mechanisms of innate and adaptive immune signaling and how their dysregulation contributes to malignant diseases. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist or Postdoctoral Fellow to join our dynamic and international research team.
The successful candidate will lead basic and translational research projects using mouse models of T-cell lymphoma, focusing on aberrant signaling pathways and their impact on the tumor microenvironment. The ultimate goal is to develop innovative therapeutic strategies for these aggressive malignancies.
Your responsibilities:
Design, execution and coordination of experiments in murine cancer models, including adoptive T-cell therapies, in compliance with animal welfare regulations
Isolation and characterization of immune cell populations (FACS-sorting, MACS, high-dimensional flow cytometry with >15-color panels)
Functional assays including proliferation, cytotoxicity, and cytokine multiplex analyses
Molecular techniques: RT-PCR, immunoblotting, and Seahorse-based metabolic profiling
Genetic engineering of T cells via viral and non-viral delivery systems
Preparation of samples for high-throughput platforms: RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, TCR-seq, metabolomics
Co-supervision of students and collaborative teamwork within the research group
Your profile:
Ph.D. or equivalent in Immunology, Molecular or Cell Biology, or a related discipline
Proven ability to independently lead scientific projects
Strong expertise in immune cell signaling and/or cancer immunology
Solid track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
We offer you:
An excellent scientific environment embedded in the vibrant Munich biomedical research community
A highly collaborative and supportive research team at one of Europe’s leading universities
In-house access to cutting-edge technologies including imaging, flow cytometry, next-generation sequencing, and proteomics platforms
A central location in Munich (Max-Weber-Platz) with excellent public transport access, EGYM wellpass, sports and cultural offers
Self-realization through a varied and technically demanding job with interdisciplinary cooperation between various departments of the clinic
We look forward to your application!
