The Role

We are looking for great talent to support our Gigafactory Berlin Powertrain Logistics journey and achieve the best operation in the most innovative E-Powertrain Production in the world.

Our cost Control Engineer is pivotal in overseeing and leading cost-related activities and strategies, including inventory management within the E2E Logistics and Manufacturing in the Powertrain operations and engineering. The responsibilities include analysing cost data, managing budgets, managing PO and suppliers' performance, optimising inventory levels, identifying and driving cost-saving opportunities with a high focus on Operations Excellence, Lean Manufacturing and other Methodologies with the different stakeholders to challenge the status quo and optimise financial and operations performance. You’ll ensure key performance indicators and implement cost-reduction strategies by driving tracking and owning projects' success. You’ll work cross-functionally and among different areas, shops and factories to enable the Giga to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and risk mitigation.

Hands-on, smart, fast pace, manufacturing and logistics operations experience. A team player passionate about execution and continuous improvement would be a great addition.

• Cost Analysis: Analyze manufacturing and logistics cost data to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement
• Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for manufacturing and logistics operations and improvement projects, ensuring adherence to financial targets
• Cost Reduction: Identify and lead cost-saving opportunities and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cost-reduction initiatives
• Forecasting: Assist in financial forecasting and modelling to support decision-making processes
• Variance Analysis: Monitor and report on variances between budgeted and actual costs and provide recommendations for corrective actions
• Performance Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost control and provide regular reports to management
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve cost control processes and procedures using own process assessment on the floor using process improvement methodologies and tools
• Inventory Analysis and Management: Implement effective inventory control measures, including demand forecasting, reorder points, and safety stock calculations to minimise carrying costs and reduce waste
• Data Analysis: Utilize data analysis tools and software to track and analyse cost trends, inventory turnover rates, and supply chain efficiencies, providing actionable insights to management
• Risk Assessment: Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to cost control, financial management, inventory management, SOX, etc.
• PO and Vendor Management: POs and commercial requirements according to the Engineering and Operations Opex and Capex Forecast, Contracts, etc. Validate invoices according to the actual usage and back data
• Cost Reporting: Prepare and present cost control reports to senior management

• BS degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Cost Control Engineer (at least 3 years) working in a manufacturing shopfloor environment (Intralogistics, Material Flow Engineering, Manufacturing, Production)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in financial analysis and modelling
• Experience in Problem-solving and RCA methodologies with proven success
• 1-year Experience in Project Management as PM (Agile Methods is a plus)
• Experience in writing queries in SQL
• Proficiency with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Knowledge of ERP software for material plann
