Duties

As a Visa Assistant in the Visa Unit, the incumbent performs a broad range of work in connection with the acceptance and processing of all types of visa applications (both immigrant (IV) and nonimmigrant (NIV)) at a post with a heavy demand for such services. Applications are often complex, and many are submitted by third country nationals (TCNs). Frankfurt is a unique post with applicants coming from over 160 different nationalities. The large TCN pool complicates processing due to diverse and unfamiliar documents and increased fraud ramifications. Incumbent will be assigned to IV and NIV work tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:

Two (2) years of general office experience in which the application of regulatory material and contact with the public is required, or one (1) year of immigrant visa experience.

Education Requirements:

Completion of Secondary School or Local Mandatory Schooling and received high school diploma is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:

English (fluent): speaking/reading/writing, may include the ability to translate.
German (fluent): speaking/reading/writing, may include the ability to translate.

This may be tested.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
