We are looking for a skilled and detail-orientated Project Cost Engineer and Controller in Northern Germany. As the Project Cost Engineer and Controller, you will be responsible for managing and controlling the financial aspects of our major capital project in Germany. Your expertise in cost engineering, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis will be pivotal in keeping the project on track and within budget. Collaboration with project teams, stakeholders, and suppliers is essential to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost control.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Cost Planning and Budgeting:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive project cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts.

• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to identify cost drivers and ensure alignment with project objectives.

• Monitor and track project expenses against approved budgets, identifying variances and taking corrective action as needed.

Cost Control:

• Implement effective cost control measures to prevent cost overruns and ensure project objectives are met.

• Analyse project cost trends, identify potential issues, and provide recommendations for cost optimization.

• Work with project teams to develop cost reduction strategies and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare regular financial reports, including cost reports, cash flow projections, and cost-to-complete analysis.

• Present financial data to project stakeholders and senior management, highlighting key cost-related insights and risks.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and project reporting requirements.

Vendor and Supplier Management:

• Collaborate with procurement and contract management teams to evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate contracts.

• Monitor vendor performance and adherence to contract terms, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.

• Review invoices and payments to suppliers, verifying accuracy and resolving discrepancies.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential financial risks and uncertainties related to the project's cost structure.

• Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address potential cost-related challenges.

• Maintain a risk register and ensure proactive risk management.

You are used to a high paced work environment and got good time management skills. Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., Certified Cost Professional) is a plus.

• Proven experience as a Project Cost Engineer and Controller on major capital projects.

• Strong knowledge of cost estimation, budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control methodologies.

• Proficiency in financial modelling and cost management software.

• Fluency in both written and spoken German and English.

• Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards in Germany.
