We are currently offering the following position in our office in Mannheim, which will be a hybrid position with 2 days home-office possibility.

Application Scientist (d/f/m)

Come and join a fantastic team! In this role, you will identify and examine application and market trends in as well as up-and downstream areas of advanced imaging, run collaborations and contribute essentially in product definition and development process. You will also develop and validate specific use cases and applications, monitor research and competitor activities and identify customer needs. You will work closely with the R&D department, product and application managers, as well as the sales team and develop new solutions and improve existing products or product lines in close collaboration with customers.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Guide the innovation processes and contributing in-depth application know-how to understand customer requirements and develop solutions
• Provide application input for dedicated market segments to support product development, product portfolio, and roadmaps
• Run application tests and validation , as well as application support during product developments
• Establishing collaborations and networks to identify future application trends
• Support BU strategy execution & achieve growth objectives by integrating market, customer and application trends into an application roadmap that drives innovation and generates sustainable growth
• Supporting launch events with application training. Present at conferences, KOL events and workshops. Provide 4th level application support

YOUR PROFILE

• A Master/ PhD degree is required with preference given to a major in natural sciences e.g. biology, biochemistry, chemistry, applied physics or a similar qualification
• Minimum 4 years of research experience applying advanced microscopy. Expertise in confocal microscopy and/or multiphoton/light-sheet/super-resolution microscopy/other advanced imaging technology is strongly preferred
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in sample preparation for fluorescence imaging
• Sound knowledge in image processing and data analysis (hands-on experience strongly preferred)
• Fluent English language skills, German would be advantage
