Kiron Open Higher Education gGmbH is a non-profit organization founded in 2015 with the mission to enable access to high-quality education for refugees and underserved communities through digital solutions. Our team of Kironistas is international, agile and thinks out-of-the-box. We are education experts, techies, designers, project managers, communicators, grant writers, researchers, coffee-drinkers, innovators and dreamers, all united in our passion to democratise digital education.

We are currently running a women empowerment program called THRIVE. The aim is to provide refugee women in Germany with a low-threshold digital program, that allows them to gain 21st-century labor market, language acquisition and professional soft skills. Through this digital program with additional blended elements (tutoring, webinars), refugee women will be equipped with relevant skills that enable them to enter the German job market. Additional personalized formats like coaching with professionals, and job fair events will provide access to networks and open further doors to job opportunities.

About the position…

As a Program Lead for THRIVE program, you will oversee and drive all strategy and implementation of our female empowermentprogram, including learning design, student recruitment, community management, planning of personalized formats and events, and stakeholder management.

In this role, you will own/teach:

• Strategic decision-making aligned with Kiron’s mission, theory of change, and orientation towards long-term educational programs

• Program implementation, including internal and external stakeholder management, with a focus on connecting the program components to ensure a learner and goal-driven learning journey

• Collaborating closely with the Network Engagement team to plan and implement exchange formats with civil society organisations and other multipliers to drive student recruitment

• Project management & reporting to donors, including budget oversight and management as well as monitoringdeliverables and milestones

You will additionally improve / learn

In building strategic partnerships and leveraging existing projects to build a sustainable program strategy

About You

To succeed and grow in this position, you will likely be:

• Passionate about digital education and creating opportunities for people with a refugee background, specifically refugee women

• A leader, able to think strategically, connect the dots across teams and stakeholders, and translate the overall vision into actionable components

• A project manager, able to juggle many tasks and priorities at once and keeping an eye on results and deliverables

• A hands-on, proactive and resilient person, able to identify what needs to be done, motivate stakeholders to stay on track and adapt to changing circumstances

• Fluent in German and English

… and will likely have:

• Experience with program management, ideally around digital education / career programs and with a special focus on women

• Experience with project management, milestone tracking & reporting

• Knowledge of the German job market and integration strategies being used by institutions and other organisations

• Experience with monitoring and evaluation

Ideally, you might also have:

• Worked with a similar target group

• Experience working with subject matter experts on professional subjects

• A knowledge of thecivil society landscape in Germany

• Coordinated volunteers in the past
