Accounting Manager
Location: Dreieich or Hamburg

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Ensure the integrity of accounting information by researching account issues for compliance and by establishing quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
- Execute monthly accounting close activities and deliverables (i.e. review account reconciliations and assist in reporting)
- Identifies, researches, and resolves items/issues impacting the financial statements
- Provide financial and analytical support to various departments and offices
- Review financial statements and monthly financial packages to owners
- Conducts monthly variance analysis
- Supervise the Accounts Payable and Receivable functions to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Heavily assist with financial audit preparations and audit process
- Maintain proper documentation of monthly data and analysis
- Assist in special projects, process improvement and technical accounting research
- Coordinate deliverables and communicate financial risks/issues to management
- Contribute to improving process workflows
- Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
- Work with each direct report to establish goals and objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.

- Detail oriented and capable of analyzing complex financial/operational data
- Advanced proficiency in PC/Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
- Ability to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of the organization
- Self-starter capable of working independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities
- Professional language skills in German and English

- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a corporate accounting organization
- 2 – 4 years of additional related experience in a management position preferred (senior accountant role is acceptable)
