Student Research Assistant/Werkstudent*in (f/m/d)
(part-time — 10 - 20 hours per week)
to support our Welfare Research Program. This research in the Welfare Program focuses on the micro-level intersection between humanitarian emergencies, fragility, and conflict on the one hand and economic and nutritional well-being on the other. Our work builds on the state of the art approaches in designing studies both experimentally and quasi-experimentally to understand how households cope with shocks and how humanitarian and development aid can help alleviate vulnerable households from poverty and strengthen their resilience and food and nutritional security.
- Conducting literature searches and reviews;
- Cleaning, matching, and analysing quantitative data; and
- Helping us communicate our research by drafting project reports, academic papers, and policy briefs.
- Have a strong first degree in economics, agricultural economics, nutrition, data science, or a related discipline;
- Have experience in conducting statistical / econometric analysis in R, Stata, or similar software;
- Have a demonstrated topical interest in studying conflict, development, and/or humanitarian policy;
- Are capable of fluently communicating and writing in English; and
- Are currently enrolled as a student; preferably in a Master’s degree program in the wider Berlin region.

- A 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension;
- Remuneration in line with that for "Studentische Hilfskräfte'' in Berlin;
- Flexible working hours in line with your curriculum;
- The opportunity to work remotely from abroad for 3 weeks per year;
- 30 days of annual leave and additional days off on 24 and 31 of December (based on a 5-day-week); and
