The position is embedded in the group of Prof. Stefan Dittmaier, and the candidate is expected to have expertise and experience in the field of precision calculations for particle colliders (LHC and ILC) at the postdoctoral level as well as a profound knowledge of particle phenomenology and quantum field theory. lt includes a teaching load of 4 hours/week (4 SWS).
The position is initially limited to three years with the possibilty of renewal up to a totel of six years. The possibility of further qualification (habilitation) is given. Besides the precondition of civil servants, the candidates must have an outstanding PhD.
At present, (astro)particle theory at the Freiburg University consists of the theory working groups of Profs. Dittmaier, JProf. Vogl, and N.N., and the experimental (astro)particle groups of Profs. Jakobs, Schumacher, Schumann, and N.N. The theoretical and experimental groups are tied together within the DFG Research Training Group "Mass and Symmetries after the Discovery of a Higgs Particle at the LHC" and represent present-day particle physics with a broad scope.
