Job Description:
Huntsman is looking for an experienced Strategic Marketing Director to join our largest division Polyurethanes (PU) located at our new European offices in the heart of Frankfurt.
The Strategic Marketing Director will be a key member of the Europe, Africa, Middle East & India (EAMEI) leadership team led by the VP Polyurethanes.
They will develop, lead and implement the Regional marketing strategy for PU with the goal of consolidating and strengthening PU market leadership with a particular emphasis on differentiating and profitably growing the business across the region.
As the Strategic Marketing Director, your responsibilities will be as follows:
- Develop and implement the regional marketing strategies to underpin the delivery of short-long term business results in close alignment with the EAMEI leadership team including technology & innovation, sales, supply chain and operations
- Build and lead the marketing organization which will drive Product & Customer Portfolio Management, Market Intelligence, Marketing Communication and new product introductions by providing direction and coaching their marketing team
- Strengthen market intelligence to take a high level view of the direction and requirements of the PU industry in Europe and translate these into practical, cohesive plans. Effectively communicate internally and externally to secure commitment regarding its’ implementation to meet dynamic market demands
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for growth in the EAMEI market through acquisition, partnering or technology alliances that leverage PU’s core technical and market competencies
- Own and lead active portfolio management across EAMEI, driving for continuous optimization of the 4Ps (Product, Price, Place, Promotion) with effective resource allocation
- Lead the development of marketing communication platforms across the region to drive synergy and ensure a consistent message, including industry associations, trade shows, EU regulatory and sustainability initiatives
Education & Skills & Experience
- Strong strategic and conceptual thinking competencies allied to strong business and operational results
- University degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline such as Chemistry or Engineering
- At least 10-15 years professional experience in a multinational environment
- Extensive B2B experience in senior marketing and business roles and a proven track record and ability to deliver successful results
- P & L responsibility is a plus
- Prior knowledge of the EAMEI markets is preferred, Polyurethanes and other relevant materials industries is a plus
