Hi there, we are Edgeless Systems!

We are a cybersecurity startup based in Bochum, Germany. We develop open source tools for secure and verifiable cloud computing. In doing so, we build on confidential computing.
Confidential computing is one of the big trend topics in cloud security. Confidential computing keeps data encrypted even during processing and enables exciting new applications. We are one of the technology leaders and operate on par with big tech. We are well funded and growing strong.

With its university and vibrant startup ecosystem, Bochum is one of the most exciting hotspots for cybersecurity in Europe. The cost of living is low and there are surprisingly many beautiful corners. We have a cool office in a central location right next to the Ruhrstadion. Home office is also an option if you prefer.

Our Product
Our flagship product is called Constellation. Constellation is a standalone Kubernetes distribution that keeps all data within the cluster encrypted at all times - even during processing. This allows sensitive applications to be brought into the cloud.

Our tech stack
Most of our code is written in Go, runs inside AMD SEV or Intel SGX, communicates via attested gRPC, and scales to K8s. At lower levels, most of it is written in C, C++, Rust, and ASM. From time to time we also build frontends using Go and TypeScript.

Your mission

You will be working with experienced team members to

• 
  Develop software with high security requirements in the context of AMD SEV, Intel TDX, Intel SGX and AWS Nitro.
• Develop distributed systems with high availability requirements
• Implement cryptographic protocols
• Prototype new ideas
• Implement CI/CD and write documentation

Your profile

Ideally, the following applies to you

• 
  You are intelligent, curious and creative
• You are inquisitive and want to develop yourself further
• You have experience with agile software development methods
• You are highly motivated and have high expectations of your own performance; you are used to working independently
• You have a suitable educational background (e.g. computer science degree); fresh graduates are welcome
