In the Division Reinsurance Controlling, the responsibilities of controlling and management reporting are bundled together to ensure a uniform controlling process. RIC advises the Reinsurance Committee (RVA), RI-CEO and the RI-CFO in respect of the current economics of the Reinsurance Segment and proper allocation of resources. RIC advises divisional board members and divisional leaders accordingly in respect of their operative units. In parallel to the Reinsurance Controlling mission, RIC is enabling the global provision of structured internal Reinsurance Data as the Global Process Owner for Reporting.
Reinsurance Controlling is searching for a Controller in our Non-Life Analytics & Steering team responsible for supporting Great Lakes SE and its management reporting and steering (Great Lakes Controlling).
Your Job:
- Produce reinsurance controlling deliverables of Great Lakes Insurance SE (GLISE), e.g. Board reports
- Deal with deliverables and queries on Great Lakes controlling matters from internal clients, i.e. the Company’s internal clients and the FMR community related clients, e.g. CFO Report, Management Expense Allocation, ORSA, etc.
- Lead the business planning & reporting process for the Company and its international organisation (Great Lakes Group) according to Management view, legal view IFRS and HGB
- Support the controlling related reporting environment of the Company (GLISE), e.g. with respect to VBM specific topics, operational client support and BSC monitoring
- Constantly challenge established processes with a view to create a resilient and documented process landscape. Develop and implement proposals for process improvements in coordination with relevant stakeholders
- Educate and develop other team members in order to ensure existing processes and products are well understood
- Develop understanding of other Finance/ Controlling related processes within Great Lakes (e.g. Business Controlling, Cost Controlling)
- Lead the quality assurance processes of RIC for the Company (GLISE) in cooperation with other RIC departments by ensuring an alignment between business unit planning and Great Lakes Legal Entity planning
- Understand the source and nature of the Company’s transactions and apply it properly to the reinsurance controlling function of the Company (GLISE)
Your Profile:
- Master or Bachelor degree in business administration, and/or recognised suitable qualification (e.g. CFA, CIMA)
- Experience in a controlling/financial reporting area and London market experience (at least 5 years)
- Experience of working in an insurance and reinsurance company
- Expertise in technical accounting and financial reporting (Actuals and Forecast)
- Familiar with strategic planning and BSC monitoring
- Experience in SAP FSRI, GPS and/or BW and SAP ECON and GT
- Microsoft excel,word and PowerBI: advanced level (lookups, pivot tables)
- Strong Knowledge of MR controlling approach (i.e. VBM)
- Excellent English language skills, German desireable
- Self motivated and client focused
- Capable of dealing with multiple and different interfaces
