STUDENT ASSISTANT (m/f/d)
2 days per week - Mainz
We are looking for support in our Biosampling/IHC Unit to start as soon as possible. The Biosampling/IHC
Unit is part of Biomarker Development Center in TRON, aiming to identify and validate novel biomarkers
involved mainly in cancer but also in other diseases. The unit supports the projects of TRON and
industrial/academic cooperation partners with its expertise on histological assays to analyze and validate new
biomarkers in spatial context, deepen the knowledge in tumor microenvironment, and investigate
biodistribution and expression of mRNA-based vaccines.
The working hours are limited to a maximum 39 hours per month on an average of 2 working days per week.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
Reception of incoming specimens and registration according to in-house work instructions
Organization and processing of specimens
Release of specimens to internal/external partners
Utilization of standard histological techniques to produce, stain and coverslip slides
Image acquisition by using in-house microscopes
Support the lab in daily lab routine (solution preparation, materials and reagents ordering, general lab
organization)
What you bring:
Vocational training in the field of natural sciences (Biology, Biomedicine, Medicine, etc.)
Flexibility in terms of working hours (in coordination with the team)
Basic lab experience (Buffer preparation, pipetting, etc.)
Independent, self-motivated working manner
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
Fluent in German and English
Any experience in microscopy would be a plus
