Your tasks:

• The candidate will carry out X-ray-based or other spectroscopy of battery interfaces or interphases, design electrolytes for lithium metal batteries, fabricate electrode or coin cells, and perform electrochemical measurements (battery cycling, voltammetry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, EIS) of lithium metal batteries
• Perform organisational tasks of the teaching organisation
• Gain teaching and team management experience through this position.
• Write proposals in German and English, manage scientific projects, and supervise students in the chair of Atomic-scale Characterization

Your profile:

• a PhD degree in materials science, organic or inorganic chemistry, electrochemistry
• extensive experiences in in situ, operando, synchrotron-based X-ray or other spectroscopy of battery interfaces or interphases and electrochemical battery cycling tests (cycling, voltammetry, and EIS) of lithium-ion or -metal batteries.
• experiences in writing proposals and managing scientific projects
• a high level of spoken and written German and English
• can work in a multicultural environment
• The candidate (m/f/x) may have: experiences in transmission electron microscopy or other microscopy techniques
  • Fluency in German (at least C1 level, in word and writing – required for an effective communication and for teaching in German) (nur bei Lehrverpflichtung)
